Historical Background
The Victorian Railways J Series Quarry Hoppers were introduced during the 1970s for transporting quarry products throughout Victoria.
Over time, these wagons underwent modifications and reclassifications, with examples continuing in service under Freight Australia and later Pacific National.
The wagons became closely associated with Victorian quarry operations, including the well-known Apex quarry train, transporting aggregate from Kilmore East towards Melbourne.
Quarry loads sold separately.
Expand your Australian railway collection with the Railmotor Models J Series Freight Australia Quarry Hopper, combining Australian model railway heritage with detailed freight rolling stock.
